Tales of Time Gone By or Sagen van Verlogen Dagen is an ongoing project in which I collect Dutch folk stories turning them into short theater performances.
The Netherlands has many beautiful, sad, funny and peculiar stories that deserve to be told (again). I find them in databases, books and fieldrecordings. I then elaborate on the stories creating a whole narrative that stays true to the source and I write new songs or pieces inspired by the story. This way the stories become performances that find their place on stage or on video.
